Book nowOnline, Medication-Based Treatment for Kratom and 7-OH Dependence
Kratom and 7-OH products can lead to physical dependence by interacting with the brain’s opioid receptors. For appropriate patients, medications such as buprenorphine/Suboxone may help reduce cravings, stabilize withdrawal symptoms, and support recovery. Our licensed medical providers offer confidential online evaluations and, when medically appropriate, can send prescriptions to your pharmacy the same day as your appointment.

Understanding 7-OH & Kratom.
What Is 7-OH and Kratom?
What Is 7-OH and Kratom?
Kratom is a tropical tree native to Southeast Asia, but many modern kratom and 7-OH products are far more concentrated and potent than the natural leaf itself. These products are commonly sold as powders, capsules, teas, shots, and extracts. The main active compounds are mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH), which act on opioid receptors in the brain. While kratom is often marketed as “natural,” that does not necessarily mean harmless — especially with newer high-potency extracts and isolated 7-OH products. Depending on the dose and formulation, effects can range from increased energy and focus to opioid-like sedation, euphoria, tolerance, dependence, and withdrawal.
What Makes 7-OH and Kratom So Dangerous?
What Makes 7-OH and Kratom So Dangerous?
One of the biggest dangers is that many people underestimate them because they’re marketed as “natural” or sold openly in smoke shops and gas stations. In reality, compounds like mitragynine and especially 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) can strongly affect opioid receptors in the brain. Many newer extracts and 7-OH products are far more potent than traditional kratom leaf, which increases the risk of tolerance, dependence, withdrawal, sedation, impaired judgment, and overdose — especially when mixed with other substances. Another major issue is inconsistency: many products are poorly regulated, vary widely in strength, or contain undisclosed ingredients, making it difficult for users to know what they are actually taking.
Signs of 7-OH & Kratom Dependence
Signs of 7-OH & Kratom Dependence
Signs of 7-OH and kratom dependence may include needing more to get the same effect, feeling withdrawal symptoms between doses, unsuccessful attempts to cut down, cravings, using throughout the day just to feel “normal,” anxiety or irritability when stopping, hiding or minimizing use, and continuing to use despite problems with health, work, relationships, or finances. Some people also notice worsening sleep, mood changes, low motivation, nausea, sweating, or flu-like symptoms when trying to quit.
7-OH & Kratom Withdrawal
7-OH & Kratom Withdrawal
7-OH and kratom withdrawal can be both physically and mentally exhausting, especially with high-potency extracts or frequent use. Common symptoms include anxiety, restlessness, insomnia, sweating, chills, nausea, diarrhea, body aches, cravings, irritability, depression, and severe fatigue. Many people describe it as feeling similar to opioid withdrawal, though the severity can vary widely depending on the product, dose, and duration of use. Symptoms may begin within hours after the last dose and can make it difficult to work, sleep, or function normally.
